St. Anthony's Sand Dunes

We had a blast in Idaho at the dunes. We had several people come up and played for 3 days in September. I love to see Robert out in the sand. He's just like a kid. I just don't think about how fast he goes!

1/13/09 She gets to keep her finger!

We are happy to say that Em gets to keep her fingertip! We went to the doctor today to see if her fingertip was going to get to stay on. Her finger is healing well. It looks so much better than just 2 days ago. The tip is nice and pink. Warm too. I get to take the sutures out in about 9-10 days. When I told her that I would remove the sutures myself she just stared in shock. Hello, I do this kind of stuff for a living. She by no means would be the first or the last. On a serious note we are thrilled and grateful everything has gone so well. She is taking her antibiotics like she is suppose to so she should continue to keep healing.

1/11/09 Back to the Hospital again! Pictures below. Beware they are bloody.

So this is what happened. I am sitting in Sunday School when one of Em's friends comes in with a frantic look on her face. She tells me that Em has broke her finger. I go into the classroom and Em has her face in the trash can with blood dripping from the tip of her finger. She was moving her chair and then sat down without moving her finger from the folding part of the chair legs. Now the problem is I have to teach Relief Society next hour. I'm thinknig to myself, we can just wrap it up and I'll take her to Urgent Care when church is over. Then I get a good look. Oh boy, we have a problem. Now several people have come to help. You know, the mormon telegraph. Everyone was so kind and worried. Of course the fact that she started hyperventilating wasn't helping. Then the vomiting in the trash can (remember she is still in the sunday school class) begins and I know she is about ready to pass out. We start breathing excersices to keep her from dropping and then I realize she is about to get shocky. We drop her to the floor and raise her feet. Somehow during all of this the bishop and Bro. Coleman give her a blessing (yep, Robert was out of town again). We get her in the car via wheelchair and off to the Emergency Room we went. By the time we arrived the pain has really kicked in and she is about done. The nurse doing the traige tells us all the beds are full, of course. The nurse was great and went and got the doctor who came out and... was the same doctor who saw Kristyn a couple of weeks ago! She gave her a block to get things numb, thank goodness. We were in soon after and the pictures tell the story. We irrigated for about 10 minutes. You can see she is much happier. The doctor came in to suture her up (we didn't get a picture of that, sorry). The X-ray showed she broke the tip of the bone. The doctor said she wasn't sure at first if she could save the tip but there seemed to be good profusion so she thought it was worth a try. She has a high risk for infection but has antibiotics for that. She will get it checked in 2 days and we will see if things are good. The doctor said after treating both of our daughters she felt like part of the family! She was awsome. The nurse tells Em while doing the discharge that there were only two things he forbade her to do. No picking her nose or flipping people off!

Celine Dion

I love Celine. My family teases me all the time about listening to her. On New Year's Eve I made everyone watch her concert on cable. Kristyn and Aunt Reenie were terrible with all their jokes about how Celine dances, the moves she makes with her fingers. Totally rude! Kyle absolutely can't stand her and actually gets in a bad mood if he has to listen to her in the car! I have always wanted to see her in concert, however I couldn't afford Vegas tickets. Robert got me tickets to see her in concert here in Utah. I am sooo excited. Of course Rob wont go see her with me, he doesn't like her either. Thank goodness for Em! She understands the talent Celine has. We have had many concerts with Celine singing back up while driving. Em of course said yes when I asked her to go. I can't wait. I'll let you know how it goes. Feb. 22nd, we'll be there!

I finally get to see Celine! Rob got me tickets for Christmas. You have no idea how excited I am.
